Biography

Aloha and welcome to my art.

I’m an artist living on the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii Island.  I work with multimedia to create vibrant abstract art that captures the soul of my island home.

Originally from South Africa, my lifelong dream was to go sailing, a dream that turned into reality when I hopped on a sailboat in Cape Town for a trip across the Atlantic. Along the way I met my future husband and we continued sailing around the world for the next 10 years.  This adventure manifested my belief that if we take the first steps to make our dreams come true, the universe will conspire to make it happen.

I love to create visual art that ignites the imagination, evokes emotion and represents universal human truths and aspirations.  My work reflects my passion for Hawaii and its beautiful coastal parks, colorful reefs, pristine beaches, tropical jungle and the elemental experience which comes from living on an active, breathing, volcanic island.

It is further imbued with the strong multi-cultural influences of the South Pacific and Asia. This Pacific – Asian fusion is reflected by the combining of metal leaf with acrylics and oils to create harmonious unity.
